Cancer Care

Several studies have found that acupuncture is most effective as a non-medicinal option to treat acute nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Additionally, there are several successful studies for using acupuncture for nerve pain or damage caused by chemotherapy, fatigue, anxiety and loss of appetite and shortness of breath. Acupuncture is a low pressure and non-invasive procedure that can help improve your quality of life during this time.

Please note specific precautions are taken for cancer patients. Acupuncture is not recommended on tumour sites or during the first three days of chemotherapy. Acupuncture is not a treatment for cancer itself, however it may be useful as a complementary adjunct therapy used to assist primary care.
